NC Men’s League is a tax-exempt not-for-profit organization governed by the guidelines of affiliate clubs of the National AAU. NC Men’s League will offer its participants the opportunity to compete in regional and statewide amateur basketball competitions.
We will utilize basketball’s prestige in this state as the foundation to address some of the challenges that face our NC men. The success of these efforts will be reflected by the membership increase, event participation and increase funding opportunities.
We want to impact the young man that has had and wants to continue to have enriching and empowering experiences in competitive sports, specifically basketball.
To have a broad and lasting impact in the community we will partner with those local churches, public and private agencies that value events that foster pride and hope in the community;
Those parks and recreation departments, public schools, universities and military bases that seek broader community outreach opportunities and
those businesses and corporations that seek to sponsor regional and statewide sporting events.
The NCML program will offer a unique
experience for young and
adult men that want to
have an enriching and
empowering basketball
experience. All
men ages 18 and up can
become members in the
organization. The
excitement, quality and
community friendly atmosphere
of the competitions we
offer will not be matched
within our state and beyond.
NCML does much more than
simply provide competitive
basketball opportunities
for North Carolina’s
men; it provides the significant
benefits that are associated
with involvement in sports
programs. These
benefits include reducing
the likelihood of young
men becoming involved
or recidivism in drugs,
crime and other illicit
behavior.
Research indicates the
economic, social and personal
value of investing in
the lives of young adult
men in a positive and
constructive manner avoids
the social and penal system
cost that may later result.
To meet this need, NCML
offers an experience that
serves as a personal “sports
reference” for participants
throughout their personal
and professional development.
These important benefits
continue to validate the
NCML concept.
